🏠 Brooklyn Booms: Home Dreams Now Cost Big 💸🌆 |
Brooklyn’s housing market just dropped a mic 🎤 — and a very expensive one! According to Douglas Elliman’s latest report, the median sales price in the borough hit a record-breaking $995,000 — up 4.7% from last year. Yup, nearly a million bucks just to call Brooklyn home. 😲🏡 |
The average sales price? That soared to $1.28 million, also an all-time high. And if you're eyeing the luxury scene (we see you, Park Slope penthouses and waterfront condos 🏙️🌉), the top 10% of sales now start at $2.325 million. Median luxury prices held steady at $2.9 million, while the average tiptoed up to a cool $3.48 million. 💎👑 |
On the bright side — more listings! Inventory rose 9.2% to 2,635, giving buyers a few more chances to snag their Brooklyn castle (or at least a cozy two-bedroom in Carroll Gardens). 🧁🛋️ |

🗽 Civic Spotlight: Keeping You Informed |
🗳️ Sutton Stuns (No One): Brooklyn’s District 22 Goes Blue Again! 💙 |
In a not-so-shocking twist, Democrat Sam Sutton has officially swept the special election in Brooklyn’s 22nd State Senate District with a whopping 66.85% of the vote, leaving Republican Nachman Carl Caller in his dust at just 28.10%. While the district has been a Trump stronghold at the presidential level, local voters showed they prefer their candidates with a little more community flavor and a lot less red meat politics. Sutton’s win keeps the seat blue after Simcha Felder swapped the Senate for the City Council in March. |
But Sutton didn’t just make history — he is history. 🎉 He becomes the first Sephardic Jewish member of the New York State Legislature, adding a new voice and a new flavor to Albany’s political stew. Despite some GOP optimism (and Trump’s past dominance here), this heavily Orthodox Jewish district said “thanks, but no thanks” to a flip. With State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins giving him a warm welcome, it’s clear Sutton’s headed to Albany with momentum, mezuzahs, and a mission. |
