With roots running deep through Midwood, Flatbush, Boro Park, and beyond, Sutton’s no stranger to the borough’s heartbeats ❤️. From 30 years at Sephardic Bikur Holim to lifting lives at the Safe Foundation and NYU Langone, Sam’s been fighting the good fight before it was trending. 💪✨ |

🥦🚫 Compost Chaos Hits Pause: Fines Delayed, Confusion Reigns! 🗑️🤷♂️ |
Just weeks after rolling out NYC’s compost crackdown, city officials are hitting the brakes on most fines — and honestly, it’s a hot mess of banana peels and pizza boxes 🍌🍕. Mayor Adams announced that the city will do more “education and outreach” (translation: New Yorkers were wildly confused about which bin is for what 😵💫). Until 2026, most buildings are safe — unless you’re a big building with over 30 units and more than four warnings 🏢🚨... then it’s $100 for you! Originally, fines ranged from $25 to $300 depending on building size, and more than 4,000 tickets were already handed out. Councilmember Shahana Hanif, who championed the bill, is now wondering if the whole program might end up in the trash 🗑️. So for now, compost your tea bags, meat bones, and soggy napkins — but maybe hold off on panic-sorting your garbage... the city’s still figuring it out 🤷♀️🌿. More info, click here |
